Full-Time Medical Assistant
We are currently seeking a full-time medical assistant to join the Horizons Medical Care & Aesthetics team in Madison, AL.
Job Summary
- Perform various patient care services, including some delegated medical procedures
Essential Functions
- Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Assists and accompanies patients from the waiting room and prepares patients for examination
- Assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician
- Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records or inputs information to patients' medical records
- Collects, labels, and delivers specimens to the laboratory
Key Success Factors
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent bedside manner and ability to make patients feel at ease by appearing friendly, reassuring, and approachable to patients
- Ability to take instruction from a doctor or nurse
- Familiarity with electronic medical charts and records
- High attention to detail
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Experience: Less than one year of experience
- Certification: Must be a certified medical assistant
Nursing Department Clerk
We are currently seeking a nursing department clerk to join the Horizons Medical Care & Aesthetics team in Madison, AL.
Job Summary
- Help the nursing department run as smoothly as possible
Essential Functions
- Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check in patients, obtain necessary patient information to file and update patient records, and ensure all forms and contents are completed by patients
- Check-out patients, assist with referral processing, and arrange laboratory services
- Manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
- Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
- Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
